These New-Fangled Contraptions...

Hello All!

Upon the urging of my wonderful friend, Grace Erdmann, I've decided to set up a blog for communicating with you all during my year in Russia. I'll be living in an apartment with a host family (most likely a 70-year-old babushka and her multiple cats), so the internet probably won't be readily available in my home. I'll be using a lot of internet cafes, and to preserve my money and my safety (have you seen the creepers that frequent those places in Europe? Scary), I'll be writing blogs instead of sending out mass emails, thus avoiding crowding everyone's microscopic Georgetown email accounts. I'll do my best to tell you everything exciting as it happens, hopefully with some semblance of wit and/or grammatical correctness. Also this blog will let you know I'm still alive and herpes-free. So, you know, basically a win-win for everyone. If you want to respond to a particular blog, feel free to leave a comment, or if you're feeling a little more verbose, send me an email! I want to hear from you guys, too!
